Nuance Salma Hayek Dual Phase Jojoba Body Oil

Oil is the new oil-free.

Remember when make-up, moisturizers, and every other skin care product professed to be oil-free and non-comodogenic? Now companies are touting not just oil-based products, but products that are pure oil. And I am buying these products at an alarming rate. Blessed (ha ha) with dry skin and dry hair, and dwelling in a dry climate, oil is just fine by me.

Nuance by Salma Hayek Jojoba Dual Phase Body Oil has a complicated name, but is pure easy. It is a spray body oil that mists on very lightly, dries quickly, leaves no oily finish, and smells very good.

Nuance

For those (me) who are simply too lazy to moisturize le corps monthly, let alone daily or even weekly, spray products are a great solution. Even I can find the energy to mist this on after a shower and wait two or three minutes for it to dry. The fact that it feels and smells so nice even makes it a little bit of a treat to do so. It smells (lightly) of coconut oil and general “tropical stuff.” It’s a little floral, maybe a tiny bit fruity. Very pleasant, and the smell only lingers for a little while, so it doesn’t interfere with perfume.

This is probably the fifth or sixth product I have used in the Nuance line, and I have been wildly impressed with about half of them, and very impressed with the other half. I have a whole other post stewing in my brain about my admiration for this brand all around, so if you’re interested, you might want to check back for that later this week or next.

Nuance by Salma Hayek is exclusive to CVS, but CVS now has online ordering (within the US and its territories)! The Jojoba Dual Phase Body Oil can be bought here for $12.99 USD for 5 oz.

  1. What a great idea! An oil that you can spritz on after the shower of bath. I too have a time of it trying to remember to moisturize and this sounds so easy. I am looking forward to reading more about your encounter with this Nuance line.

    • Yes, it is genius! And you only have to go halfway to Pac Heights to get to a CVS within the City. :) (As you can see, I was a little bitter about the lack of CVSs in SF.)

  2. Spray could be the answer I am looking for. I have some Ren body oil but it is way too oily and never truly soaks in. Regular body lotion does eventually, but not before I am dressed! Spritzing sounds like a much better delivery system – and would give more even coverage too, as with spray tanning. No streaks or dry bits!

    • This is definitely light and absorbs easily. And the spray is pretty much the only reason I can use it. I just don’t like dealing with the fuss of things that can easily spill.

  3. I didn’t even realize Salma Hayek had a line of beauty products! Well, you sold me with your description of it as smelling lightly of coconut oil (as well as floral). In the past couple years, I’ve really fallen for the scent of coconut, but only when it smells light and natural (which brings to mind Vamp a NY Love Coco perfume). :)

Btw, what other products do you recommend from this line? Just wondering, as it sounds like you’re pretty impressed with it.

    • Love Coco is a fave of mine too! Some of the other products I like a But are the eyebrow palette, the AM/PM cream, and the antiaging serum for hair. I’m going to post little mini-summaries of these and some others later this week.

      • Sorry :) It’s just a habit. I made it a part of a routine and just cannot skip it now. Even when I travel l always makesure to bring body lotion with me: otherwise it doesn’t feel right.

  4. I love oils… I would have never thought that 7 years ago! So much better than oil-free!!

I feel really dumb, because I kept looking for Nuance at Walgreens, not realizing it was CVS-exclusive… LOL. Thanks for the tip! I think I may stop there on my lunch one day this week.

    • It’s so funny to me that now the oil trend is taking off and those of us who never would have considered oil in the past are realizing how great they are. And yep, CVS. :)

  5. I love body oils! I’ve been a bit (or ALOT) scarce of late, and I must say what a surprise to see you’ve been blogging about beauty products :)

      • I made the mistake of doing that – I really am not that interested in blogging about beauty products. I use them, but what I know about them is scary! That’s why my beauty posts were always very vague… Glad I’m done with that now :)
